28 Residents left homeless after massive fire in Kingston

The Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) notes with regret the massive fire which occurred on March 16, 2017 at premises located at the corner of King Street and Beeston Street, Kingston.

Despite this unfortunate setback, which has left 28 residents, including 12 children homeless, we are thankful that no lives were lost.

The KSAMC will extend its usual support to the victims of the fire to enable them to recover. Kingston’s Mayor Delroy Williams, has expressed regret and is ensuring that the KSAMC extends support to those affected.

"We have to offer assistance. The KSAMC's Poor Relief Department and Disaster Coordinator stand ready to provide the necessary assistance. We will also be in dialogue with the Ministry of Labour and Social Security to render some assistance," Mayor Williams explains.
